Our President for  2005 - 2006 is John Wells.
John's association with Rotary  goes back to 1972.

"I have made MEMBERSHIP the theme for the year. We are a strong club and want to keep it that way."

"We have a long list of our own projects to support and will also be contributing to District Governor Robert Morris’  preferred charities for this year.  Internationally, he has chosen Mercy Ships as his charity using hospital ships to bring world-class medical assistance and long-term sustainable development to all people without regard for race, gender or religion.  On the domestic front Robert has designated Hearing Dogs for the Deaf as his preferred charity.  Hearing dogs help prevent the isolation many deaf people suffer and give them confidence and independence."

  1. At our meeting on the 20th July  we were told that Eve and Raj's Garden Party  had raised over £3000  for Richard House Children's Hospice and other Rotary charities. We also had a fascinating talk from Sean Mullens about the Oasis project in Zimbabwe. Sean described the various projects that Oasis  supports  and put these in the context of the current social and economic situation in that country.  To find out more  go to the Oasis web site at http://www.oasiszw.org/index.htm

  2. There will shortly be 5 Rotary Clubs in the London Borough of Enfield. The Rotary Club of Enfield Chase meets as an interim club but is on target to achieve sufficient new membership to hold an Inaugural meeting and be chartered this summer.  Currently, there are 15 members and they need another 5 to start the procedure.
Membership is by invitation but any person interested in Rotary is welcome to attend at this stage.   The club is open to men and women from any trade or profession, the only requirement is a readiness to help the less fortunate in the community.

Our thanks to the company and to the general manager for their generous provision of accommodation. Click here for a picture report.
